Honeyed pears shine in this healthy dessert that comes together in a snap thanks to a store-bought crust. Take these galettes over the top with a spiced whipped topping or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons honey, plus more for garnish
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
2 cups chopped ripe pears, peeled if desired
1 refrigerated vegetarian pie crust (1/2 package)
1 large egg white, lightly beaten
spiced whipped cream (optional; see tip)
Directions:
Combine honey, flour, cinnamon and cardamom in a medium bowl. Add pears; toss to coat.
Roll out pie crust on a lightly floured surface into a 13-inch circle. Cut out four 5 1/4-inch pastry circles and place each on a small square of parchment paper. Mound one-fourth of the pear mixture in the center of each pastry, leaving the outer 1 inch uncovered. Fold the uncovered pastry over the filling, pleating as needed. Lightly brush the pastries with egg white. Place 2 pastries (on the parchment squares) in the basket of an air fryer.
Cook at 350℉ until golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Lift the papers to transfer the galettes to a wire rack to cool. Repeat with the remaining galettes.
Serve the galettes topped with additional honey and cinnamon and/or, if desired, Spiced Whipped Cream.
